Summer Social $5000 Presenting Sponsors National Financial Network & Specialty Freight Services Inc.

The Friends of Ryan welcomes the 2022 Summer Social Presenting Sponsor, National Financial Network. Toni Mazzei ‘73 is the founding partner of National Financial Network and leads a firm whose mission is to create and implement financial strategies that meet and exceed clients’ desires. Whether seeking a holistic financial plan or targeted insurance, investment, or retirement strategy, National Financial Network educates their clients about how each dollar in their world works together to provide the assurance of a secure financial future.

Toni Mazzei ‘73 and his wife Margie Mallee Mazzei ‘75 donated $5,000 as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2022 Summer Social. We wish to thank both Toni and Margie for their generous donation to help ensure the future growth of Archbishop Ryan and its students through tuition assistance, programs, and capital improvements.

The Friends of Ryan welcomes the 2022 Summer Social Presenting Sponsor Specialty Freight Services Inc. lead by President & CEO Bill Colfer ‘79. Specialty Freight Services is committed to exceeding the standards you normally expect from a transportation company. We take pride in being a team of professionals with one common goal, COMPLETE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION for all expedited ground, air and sea services.

Specialty Freight Services, Inc. has been serving customers since 1994. We have developed a highly skilled and experienced management team, representatives in every major city in the United States of America, and representatives in every country in the world, which have all contributed significantly to our success.  Specialty Freight Services’ worldwide headquarters is located in Essington, PA.

From our company’s very inception, we had the philosophy that we should provide a service designed for a particular customer, not just what the public generally demands. Our objective is to design a system to meet your requirements, not fit you into our system.

We accomplish this goal by becoming, in effect, an extension of your company. For that to happen, we have developed a service-oriented experienced transportation organization enabling Specialty Freight Services to provide “operational flexibility”.

Developing the rapport with responsible persons at origin and destination enhances operational flexibility. This enables us to respond to the unusual demands: emergency shipments, special pick-ups, deliveries, etc.… Our desire is to be a resource for your people when these situations occur.

Bill Colfer ‘79 donated $5,000 as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2022 Summer Social. We wish to thank Bill for his generous donation to help ensure the future growth of Archbishop Ryan and its students through tuition assistance, programs, and capital improvements.

Race to Pack the Pier

With several other Catholic League schools hosting their annual summer reunions at the Seaport Pier, the idea formed to generate a friendly competition to see which reunion can generate the most attendance. The Seaport Pier is hosting the first ever Philadelphia Catholic League High School’s Race to Pack the Pier. Obviously, we have no intention of making the race close so get your tickets at Summer Social Tickets. Archbishop Ryan starts off the event on Saturday July 30 from 2-7 PM followed by Father Judge / St. Huberts and Roman Catholic and Hallahan. Let’s show the huge numbers behind Archbishop Ryan as we celebrate the best reunion on the beach.

Archbishop Ryan Leadership Team

Over the last year, Archbishop Ryan has made great strides in reshaping the school through the leadership of both Board President Joseph Sanginiti ‘75 and Principal Joe McFadden ‘97. This past month, it was formally announced that these dedicated and proud ARHS alums will continue working together to lead the school in a more formal way over the next few years. Mr. Sanginiti has generously volunteered to take on the role of President and remain as Board Chair while Mr. McFadden continues to take on additional responsibilities beyond his work as Principal. They will continue to drive the future success of Archbishop Ryan while developing a successful succession plan. Both Mr. McFadden and Mr. Sanginiti are optimistic and excited about the future of Archbishop Ryan and look forward to continuing their partnership. The Friends of Ryan would like to congratulate both Joseph Sanginiti and Joe McFadden as we continue our efforts to make Archbishop Ryan the best school in the Archdiocese.

Class of 1972 Celebrates 50 Years

The AR Class of 72 50th reunion committee thanks their 192 classmates who attended the June 10, 2022, reunion at the Philadelphia Ballroom. It was a great celebration, rekindling old friendships, sharing life’s journeys, honoring those who we have lost, and dancing, lots of dancing, to DJ Bobby Sacco.  We surpassed any fundraising goal, more than we could ever imagine, with our mission to provide AR students with tuition assistance with our Basket Raffle, Silent Auction and 50/50 and all the online donations.  While the numbers are still being finalized, the current estimate we raised is $12,387.93. AR has already finalized their financial aid for students in the 2022-23 school years; your $12,387.93 will be shared with many students in the 2023-24 school years with full disclosure that these funds were awarded by the Class of 1972.  Your generosity is beyond measure.  Our reunion Facebook “Archbishop Ryan HS Class of 1972 50th Reunion” page will remain active so please continue to follow it.

Gratefully, we are AR, Pat Flood Williams, Holly Conboy, Charlie Fox, Patty O’Connor McCarthy, Debbie Greenhaugh Mercer, Joe Nugent, Lynda Gayhart Sciolla, Fran McNeil Williams, Joanne Pitts Watkins, Marge Lyons Coller, Dan Kalai and Marylou Quinn Tammaro.

The complete photo collection is still being generated and we will post the complete gallery as soon as possible.
