A Great Year
In this month’s newsletter as we approach the Christmas holiday, we would first like to wish you and your family a safe and joyous Christmas and Happy New Year. This past year at Archbishop Ryan has been an amazing success across several fronts as the Class of 2022 became our newest Alumni class post-graduation and we welcomed the largest freshman class in the diocese with the Class of 2026. The world opened back up post Covid and our administration, faculty and especially our students deserve much appreciation in the way they managed and succeeded in such a disruptive environment. We wish to thank the entire Ryan community in your support of all the activities and initiatives this past year and in the years to come.
Friends of Ryan Donation in Support of the Bonaventure Program
Earlier this year, the Friends of Ryan donated $22,000 to upgrade the Bonaventure Room by replacing the floors that span two rooms and hallway and acquiring several specialized desks to help support the special needs of students. Archbishop Ryan High School has a mission of empowering students to become contributing members of society and the Catholic community. In the Bonaventure Center, students have the opportunity to work closely with teachers developing learning strategies such as: time management, organization skills, self-control techniques, and writing/research skills. Students in the Bonaventure Center receive an Individualized Education Plan, or IEP. The IEP specifies long-term goals and short-term objectives. It is developed annually for each student. The goals set for each of the students aim to not only ensure their academic growth within content classes, but also provide them with the environment in which they can build skills and values for life.
In the Bonaventure Center, students will also receive accommodations for tests, quizzes, essays, and projects. Students will engage with the teachers in an isolated environment for each assessment. This allows students to receive the inclusive education necessary to establish understanding of concepts and skills in each content area. Accommodations can include oral testing, proof-reading of reports, and preferential seating, based on the students IEP. Through the combination of these accommodations and learning strategies, students learn to manage the levels of responsibility required for high school and beyond. As a Diocesan Program for students with learning disabilities, the Bonaventure Center’s goal is always to support and guide students as they complete their high school journey
Friends of Ryan Winter Social
Come February there is no doubt the winter blues will have set in, so we invite all our Alumni and friends to party into the night as we host the Friends of Ryan Winter Social with Archbishop Ryan’s very own DJ Bobby Sacco. The event is BYOB and lite bites will be provided by Marinucci’s Deli scheduled on Saturday February 4, 2023, from 7PM to midnight at Archbishop Ryan’s South Gym.
Tickets are available at https://www.arhs.me/wintersocial. Tickets are $45 online and $50 at the door and table packages available for $400 which includes a reserved table and 10 tickets to the event. Sponsorship opportunities are also available online and are a great way to show your support to the Ryan community and promote your business to over 35,000 Alumni.

Diamond Sponsor is available for $2,500 and includes 15 general admission tickets, reserved table, premium signage and DJ recognition, social media recognition, entry to the Friends of Ryan Business Network and Friends of Ryan website Newsletter Spotlight.
Platinum Sponsor is available for $1,000 and includes 10 general admission tickets, reserved table, deluxe signage and DJ recognition, social media recognition and entry to the Friends of Ryan Business Network.
Gold Sponsor is available for $500 includes 4 general admission tickets, event signage, social media recognition and entry to the Friends of Ryan Business Network.
Silver Sponsor is available for $250 includes 2 general admission tickets, event signage, social media recognition.
Archbishop Ryan Presentation of Elf a Great Success
The Archbishop Ryan Musical Theatre hosted their presentation of Elf the Musical over several shows to great success. The auditorium was packed, and our surrounding grade schools were also invited to attend for their own showing. Ryan’s very own Elizabeth Haney was highlighted in the Northeast Times for her dedication to the show and the field hockey team.

The last several years have seen a rebirth at Archbishop Ryan High School which is displayed by the interest in attending the school, the excellent faculty and curriculum, amazing student programs and several initiatives to capital improvements displayed through the school.
